Will Larter left this review about The Dunkirk Inn
This is an isolated roadside pub with a real friendly atmosphere - the landlord went out of his way to greet us, and when I dropped my return train ticket while paying for my beers, sought us out and made sure our day wasn't spoilt. It was quite busy in here, with a dining room to the left and a public bar to the right, and a further small room further right where a pool table was hidden away behind the fireplace.
There were three real ales available: Wychwood Hobgoblin, Tetleys Bitter and Jennings Cumberland, and the three of us had a different beer which we drank without complaint. This was our second pub of a Denby Dale crawl, and we had another walk back to the centre and a bus to catch, otherwise we'd have stayed longer. There was a lad of about seven playing pool who would have beaten me if I'd taken him on, so it's just as well we had to hit the road.
