Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Golden Fleece Inn
Locals' pub in the Bradshaw area of Halifax to the north of town. Despite not opening until 4pm on weekdays, it was already very busy by 5pm on our Friday evening visit. I had my lad in tow, but signs on the doors now prohibit under 18's from entering. WhatPub lists the pub as "family friendly". So, I'm not sure what has triggered the new ruling.
Whilst being full, it has to be said that the pub is fairly small with the main bar area to the right-hand side, a games room on the front left-hand side and a small room to the rear left-hand side which seemed to be where they were keeping a large glass store.
Getting to the bar to see the ale options was quite tricky with plenty of bar hoggers. However, they didn't really have anywhere else to sit. I had to plonk myself in the games room in order to bag a seat. A game of pool was in progress.
Regular ales are Theakston Best Bitter & Saltaire Blonde. Guests were Saltaire Nutcracker & Copper Dragon Golden Pippin.
