Old Boots left this review about The Travellers Rest Inn

A traditional double fronted stone built pub opposite Aldi, looking like a Sam Smith’s pub but isn’t. Not too messed about inside, two rooms, a big one on the right with the counter, a smaller one with pool table to the left. It once was multi room judging by the walls and slight step in the floor, the front right part has arches where a wall and door probably were once. The decor is traditional with plain plaster or nice wallpaper, dodgy carpet, old photo decor. Lots of banquette seating and wooden tables. A U shaped servery with a selection of standard kegs on low T-bars plus a Guinness and a Moretti solo, presided over by an old bloke in a cap is rear centre. A couple of machines, a screen is in the right hand side. Interesting place for pub tourists.

Strongers . left this review about The Travellers Rest Inn

The Travellers Rest has large seating areas either side of the front entrance and a U-shaped bar on the rear wall to the right. A standard keg range is available alongside Birra Moretti. There are televisions for showing Sky Sports, which were all muted in favour of some background music. In the front left seating area is a dartboard. Out the back is a well-kept pebbled beer garden with picnic tables and a not so nice smoking shelter.
Lunch is available on Fridays and the doors open at 9:30 on Saturdays and Sundays for the breakfast crowd. This is a local’s boozer, but I found everyone to be friendly and enjoyed listening to the banter. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit here again but would pop in if passing.

Not changed much over the Years just taken a wall out and pulled some wood portion down use to be a place i often drank in years ago would use it if i still lived round here met some old friends i have not seen for years had a good afternoon talking about old times.
Sad realy been away for thirty years and more but these old friends have done nothing with there lives. Just changing dominoes darts and pool teams every year but good honest working class but all are happy and that means a lot
