The Grove Inn is a basic backstreet local’s boozer that had one other customer when I visited on a recent Tuesday afternoon. To the left of the entrance is a very thin seating area that houses a long table with chairs. The small bar opposite the entrance, on the back wall, faces an area with limited seating. To the left of the bar is a sunken seating area with some tables and a fireplace with log burner. There is also an alcove with dartboard. A room to the right of the pub houses a pool table. I spotted a single television that was showing music videos, Sky Sports is advertised. To the left of the pub is a paved beer garden that I did not visit due to a thunderstorm that had the barmaid walking around the pub strategically placing buckets on the floor waiting for the inevitable leaks. There is no real ale here, only a limited standard keg range. I did not see any food advertised. I’m not sure that this place is worth the short walk from the main road.
