Handy for the station and lively on a sunny August evening. Four hand pumps, with Tetley's Cask plus the three in my photo, of which I went for Copper Dragon Golden Pippin (NBSS 3.5(. When I offered my card as payment I was told there's a 15p charge for card payments. I suggested that this might be illegal, but the lass said that's what she'd been told to say. Rather than have her (possibly) break the law, I gave her a £10 note and got £8 change; how quaint. I wonder what the bank charges are for a bag of pound coins?

A decent pub only 1 mins walk to the railway platform. This was our last port of call after our crawl around Brighouse, and it did not disappoint. I immediately spotted Abbeydale Deception on handpump, which was excellent and only £4 a pint.
A good community pub, which included a private party in the front lounge on our Saturday afternoon visit, I salivated as I watched the staff bringing all the party food up from the cellar on big trays and plates and into the lounge.
The 3 other beer choices on our visit was Tetley, Copper Dragon Golden Pippin and Chinook Goose Eye.

The Commercial Railway is handily placed just down from Brighouse train station.
Once inside the main room is oblong shaped with the bar on the right side, the seating is comfy bench type and small stools, there is a smaller square shaped room to the front left which also has bench seating and small stools, both rooms are carpeted and have a very comfortable feel to them.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Copper Dragon Golden Pippin which went down well, the other real ales were Tetley Cask and Derby Brewery Hop Till You Drop.
There is a pool table and background music was playing.
I found this to be a very comfortable pub to have a drink in,one i could settle in if not on a pub crawl.

Unusually this pub still has 3 distinct rooms even though it's been opened out a bit. One room has album covers and guitars on the wall along with a piano, another has a pool table and a quiz machine. The main bar area also has a dartboard. 4 ales available during my visit. Tetleys Bitter, Ossett Big Red, Copper Dragon Golden Pippin and an excellent pint of Sharps Rockpool. The pub was pleasantly busy on my Friday, early evening visit and I ended up chatting to the friendly landlord. I really liked this pub and would definitely visit again if in Brighouse.

The nearest pub to the station, it still retains three rooms, two at front, pool in one, a sitting room in other. The main bar has a five pull plus two T-bars of the usual suspects - nothing to see move along. Cask beers from Marstons, Tetley, Copper Dragon, and Grey Hawk - Yorkshire's greatest living brewer, Dave Sanders' joint venture with Copper Dragon. The service and beer quality was excellent but something, God knows what, was just missing for me, however it's still a very decent pub. Beer mats and corporate advertising as decor but some old Tetley's stuff as well which was more interesting. The toilets are behind the servery to each side. Mind the darts on the way to the gents. The pub has two names, The Commercial and The Railway.
