Old Boots left this review about The Spotted Cow Inn
On a busy crossroads this is a modernised pub, probably two buildings knocked into one. Very modernised inside with the left hand end given over to dining, the right is a standard public which goes back into a snug like area. There is an attempt to leave the front more traditional with Britannia tables but the pallet wood cladding spoils it a bit. The Gents has been done out in agricultural style for some reason, the urinals are cut down casks rather than kegs – see below. Four pulls on the counter beside some doubles and solos, an exciting if short lived choice on the pulls with the Midlands and West Country being represented by Wye Valley and Salopian, Landlord on the third and nowt on number four. The HPA must have had a long arduous journey as it was very much on the turn, but then the blackboard described Neck Oil as “Real Ale” so maybe cask is not their strength. The Salopian replacement was OK but the HPA was left on until I left.
