Old Boots left this review about The Taproom
We came we looked we left. No real ale in spite of an ad in the local CAMRA mag stating “Batley town centre’s favourite real ale pub”, a difficult claim without real ale I guess.

The Taproom is a long fronted stone built pub that is situated on Batleys main shopping street.
Once inside the pub has two separate rooms which both have separate outside entrances,i went in the room to the left which is an oblong shaped room which is bare boarded to the right, the seating is normal tables and chairs plus one chesterfield settee, the left side of the room has a stone floor.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Wensleydale Red Robin which was a really nice well kept beer, the other beers i noted were Rat Old York,Taylor Landlord,Rudgate IPA,there were a couple of other beers i failed to note.
The room i had a drink in was really nice with a cosy feel to it,i did not look in the room to the right.
I quite liked this pub.
