Entering from the (small) car park, through the beer garden, you pass several rooms set out for dining (as is the patio area); follow the corridor round and you'll emerge in a reasonably-sized bar area, dimly lit (or gloomy, according to taste), set out with seats & sofas round tables and stools at the bar.
Food is clearly a big draw - I can't comment myself, but a late afternoon visit suggests that The Gun can attract quite a crowd.
Service at the bar is brisk and friendly. Ale comes from Marston's stable: Wychwood Hobgoblin and Ringwood Forty-Niner were of good quality; another couple were available but not sampled.
As winter draws in, it's unlikely I'll be visiting quite so frequently over the next few months, but come spring-time, I look forward to a pint or two after hitting the Downs.
