Large village pub by a roundabout on the A2037 as it swerves to avoid the centre. It looks like it has been extended at some time, and the interior has the remains of interior walls with arches in red brick, maybe reminiscent of someone's holiday in Spain? The bar has four hand pumps with regular beers Landlord, London Pride and Harvey's Sussex Best. A clutch of locals were sat around drinking Madri (3) or Harveys (1). Some holidaymakers were mostly on the Harvey's, which I marked as NBSS 3, but I have a problem with this beer's banana-ish flavour, which seems like a fault to me, so it could have been 3.5. All beers are discounted by 50p a pint on Mondays, so I paid £4.50. It's a decent enough pub, but I don't think I'll be coming back Tuesday.

Whether you`re looking for a local pub for a drink one evening, a meal, a game of pool or a quiz, the Rising Sun is the place to go. It`s fantastic and run by the best landlord you`re ever likely to meet; he cooks all the meals too and they`re not reheated jobs, they`re the real thing.
