The pub, dating back to 1731, seems to have experienced more vibrant times in the past. It likely caters well to its regular patrons, but my experience didn't leave me eager to come back. I opted for a Strongbow cider instead of trusting the ales. Inside, the snug featured a fascinating display of foreign banknotes. The maritime-themed decor, including oars, ropes, and other nautical items, served as a subtle reminder of its name and location, situated right by the footbridge over the River Adur.

I'm sure it has seen better days since 1731. Serves its regulars well I expect but not one that makes me want to return. Didn't want to trust the ales so had a Strongbow. Interesting display of foreign bank notes in the snug. A few oars, ropes and other nautical stuff reminds you of the name and location right by the footbridge over the River Adur.

There’s a small snug area to the left of the entrance at the start of the bar that runs along the left hand wall of the Ferry Inn. This isn’t the biggest place but somehow a pool table and dartboard have been shoehorned in. The pool table takes centre stage and there was a rowdy group of women playing badly on the Saturday evening I visited a couple of weeks ago. The rest of the locals were suitably drunkard and the background music was very much in the forefront.
The bar is stocked with standard draught alongside Staropramen and San Miguel. I also spotted two hand pumps that were drawing Directors and Harvey’s Best. The service was polite, but I went unnoticed for a while as the focus of the staff seemed to be directed at the regulars.
There is a private club downstairs that hosts various advertised live entertainment evenings.
I wouldn’t go out of the way to visit here again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Ferry Inn
Curious corner pub dating from 1731, with a small bar dominated by a pool table and an even smaller snug to one side -decorated with banknotes - and with its own door. Quite a jovial atmosphere. Two beers on handpump - Harveys and Hobgoglin (£3.30).

Only snuck onto the crawl as reserve, but was ok. Always a bit suspect having the pool table quite so dominant in a pub but no hostility. Harveys & Hobgoblin on handpump, a small snug to the side with peripheral bench seating & round brass-topped tables. Odd that the square-footage given to the toilets was probably more than 50% of the entire pub!
