A large pub with a tiny car park and extensive outdoor and tented tabling outside looking over the water. There is a serving bar counter facing the door, with a few tables set up for dining in the adjacent room, then lots of covered and outdoor area beyond. At time of visit, this was heaving with a very noisy customer base and it was next to impossible to get served. I later discovered the large rooms to the left of the entrance were completely empty. At any rate, the layout and staffing left much to be desired and I wouldn't go back unless at a quiet time. Beers from the usual Fullers/Gales range.

Both bars are very 'foodie' especially the right hand bar. Three Fullers beers, Pride, Ssafarers and HSB. £3.60 A pint. For such a big building there seemed little room inside.

The Bridge Inn is a large Fullers pub on the corner of the high street next to the bridge over the river. There are two rooms but I only visited the bar on the right as the left hand side was heaving. The right hand bar feels like a dining area, although there were no diners during my recent Saturday evening visit. The menu consists of the usual Fullers fayre and the mains came in around the £10 mark. The bar is stocked with standard draught and the three hand pumps were drawing Pride, Bengal lancer and HSB. Staropramen was also available and after looking through to the other bar I discovered that the same drinks range is available in there.
There was no background music that I can remember and I didn’t spot any televisions, but I did spot a notice advertising live folk music every third Monday of the month.
This isn’t a pub that I would go rushing back to, but I will mention the woman who was working behind the bar as she was very friendly.
