Graham Coombs left this review about The Red Lion
An imposing old country pub, expanded into its outbuildings, on a bypassed section of the old A24 and now surrounded by suburban style housing. Very food-led and much of the inside has been thoroughly rebuilt as an upmarket restaurant, with lots of dark wood giving a cavernous feel. The older part to the left is a bit more casual, while the frontage has numerous tables set in a large gravelled car park. Ales were unexcitingly London Pride, Doom Bar and Tribute but were at least in good nick. Food was good, although not cheap, and it is not a bad refreshment stop although not really a drinking destination.
