Still a regular Good Beer Guide entry and rightly so, The White Horse has been in the same hands for 20 years or more. I seem to remember 5 ales on my visit, predominantly from Sussex (Harveys, Hepworth, Long Man for example). The cider was certainly local, coming from JBs just down the lane. It's also good to see that the menu continues to feature the legendary chilli.
Not an easy one to get to by public transport, but it's definitely worth the effort.

Characterful former King & Barnes pub in the middle of the Sussex countryside. Winner of numerous CAMRA awards and a perennial GBG entry, it was easy to see why on my visit; six ales mainly from micros, (Weltons, Moorhouse, Harveys, Hogs Back, Hepworth, WJ Kings) in good shape along with (if I recall correctly) a locally-brewed cider. Exposed brick and beamed interior, flagstone floor and a large conservatory area to the rear, home of many pot plants. Traditional pub games available. ‘Arty’ prints of black and white nudey Victorian ladies in the gents. Impressive 1950’s American car in the yard (forgot to ask why!).
A real gem worth seeking out.
