Strongers . left this review about The Railway Tavern

Located on a prominent corner behind some picnic table lined astroturf, including a long and covered section with a television, the Railway Tavern is a sprawling split-level pub with lots of seating around an island bar. It was very busy during a recent Saturday afternoon visit not long before England kicked off a Six Nations match that was airing on the televisions throughout. At the rear, behind the counter, are a couple of pool tables and in the front left corner is a DJ booth. Standard and premium keg products were available alongside Neck Oil and four hand pumps, three of which were in use drawing Harveys’ Best, TT Landlord and GK Scrumdown. I thought the service was polite and there was a good atmosphere, so I’d pop back in if passing.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Railway Tavern

A bit of a mixed bag, this one, with the large pub having been refurbished in various styles in the different areas. Most are semi-modern, but the corner I found was a bit more traditional. You also pass through a fair-sized and slightly split-level patio at the front on the way in. There is a pool table and a fairly basic menu featuring Barrel & Stone pizzas, etc. With three of four handpumps in use, I found Black Sheep, Landlord and the 'house' Flynn's Railway Crafted Bitter of unknown origin (£1.90, half) being dispensed.

Nice pint of Courage Directors whilst waiting for my lift "home".
A large pub but fairly quiet at 2:00 pm on the Tuesday between Christmas and New Year

Excellent pub, Jayson and Wendy the landlords have turned the pub round and made it a great place to socialise. Good food and great friendly service.
