Yet another pub that got 2 visits from me during a weekend in the village. This review is mainly from the earlier visit which was from 4pm on a Friday afternoon.
Large pub that is mainly taken up with a dining area that once the diners have left the tables are given but to the drinkers. At 4pm on Friday the pub was pretty quiet, it got slightly busier after 5pm when a few people came in after finishing work.
3 ales on with 2 Badger’s both from the Hall & Woodhouse stable , the 3rd was a guess which was King & Barnes Sussex Draught Bitter @ 3.5% was on good form again just like the several pints I necked back in September here. During the afternoon visit I spent the whole time playing pool and feeding the juke box, which the lovely bar maid duly cranked up a level. We stayed for several hours and then 3 of us return at 10.30pm on Friday evening when a Dj was playing, the pub was packed with a younger crowd.
Stayed for a couple of hours and when we left at gone 12.30am the place was still going strong with several punters in a bit of a state!
Decent pub but not really my thing later in the evening, think I’ll stick to day time visits!

The Lion Inn is a Hall and Woodhouse run pub with an attractive waist high stone walled area out the front that is dotted with picnic tables. At the rear is an advertised car park. In the right hand side of the pub is a bar that houses a pool table and a small television that was airing muted Olympics on the BBC. In the left hand side of the pub is a smaller bar and to the far left is a dining area. Available from the bar was a standard keg range and the three hand pumps were drawing Tangle Foot, King and Barnes Sussex and Badger’s First Call.
