This is an end-terrace pub and part of the Black Country Ales chain (not sure if it still is, mind) with a rear patio area. Like the Old Bush near next door, it is what is left of the Victorian 'New Village' built for the Mars Ironworks - a new housing estate now stands on the land. The pub is in BCA livery, in cream and blue, with some brick and tile. The interior had one room that i saw, which was irregular open plan and in white and crimson, with a patterned carpet. A brick chimney breast with a burner fire is the main feature. There is a TV, which had general programmes on and the music was 60s based, at a decent level. There were a couple of dart boards. The art is bistro based stuff (which is why i assume it isn't a BCA pub anymore!) and some trophies are on display. The service was fine and the place fairly busy with a maturer clientele as there was a crib game on. Beer, no real ale, with usual keg drinks and Banks's MILD. I had a shandy. It seemed to have a nice community atmosphere, it is just sad that there is no real ale on anymore - nothing for the real ale drinker.
