Soup Dragon left this review about Merry Boys Inn
A large detached Marstons pub and eatery, in cream painted brick, with a patio area and a covered smoking zone.
The interior is a large U-shaped room around the central serving bar. The decor is a mix of mustard, red and wood panelled walls, with half of the place having a white ceiling, the other, red, with a nice moulded cornice. The general patterned carpet was present. The walls have landscape and flower prints on them. The pub is set-up for food, with plenty of tables, serving the general Marston's menu - though i didn't eat here so i can't comment on the food itself. There is a pool table and several TVs, some off, some with the darts on. The service was fine, the music general, but at a decent level.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's Bitter and a decent Banks's MILD on handpull.
The type of place that I would either eat in, or pop in for one, but as Marston's foody places go, it seemed one of the better ones.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Merry Boys Inn
Sizeable suburban pub, opened out to form one large staple-shaped bar with various seating areas. Standard Marstons menus for a family-orientated food offering. Pool table. Seven handpumps in total, but only two on - Banks's Bitter and Mild (£2.40) - and one with an old Banks's Original clip.
