A detached pub and eaterywith a cream rendered facade, with extensions and with a beer garden and play area for the kids. The heart of the pub is Victorian.
The interior is more modern looking, with an open plan bar and dining area, with centeral serving bar area. The decor is burgundy and yellow with wood panel and white ceiling. Parts of the pub are set oout for dining and they do a budget menu, but i didn't eat so i can't comment on that. There are some arty and landscape pictures on the walls. There is a pool table and a dart board, as well as a TV that had the darts on, while another had the news. There was a soft music background, with a small clientele and friendly service.
Beer; well, all keg, no real ale - it does Banks's and Highgate MILD on keg - the Highgate was fine.
Having visited a few times now the place has grown on me. It is a mix of food and pub, but is not a large pubco place so retains a homely feel - one assumes with the kid's play area that it is a place for families. Despite having no real ale, at some stage, i will bring the family here for food.
