A large part terraced brick build, with timber frame and red, white and yellow paintwork - a little garish, with beer patio and kid play area. The place does cheap food and a carvery - perhaps that's why it looks a bit like a Toby place!
The interior had two rooms. The dining room i could not really see. The bar had pool, darts and Sky TV. The decor was the beam look, with yellow artex walls and white artex ceiling - there were moulded cherubs on the canopy over the curtains, a smaller medieval style central light fitting (half expecting Errol Flynn to swing on it), a brick fireplace with half fake barrells on it, brass ornaments, Parisian townscape paintings, flower and dragon symbols embedded in the walls. The whole place was twee, but was great fun - other than the music being a bit loud. The service was fine and the clientele mixed, from the footy lads, to the maturer bloke.
Beer; tap stuff, with Banks's MILD and Skinner's Heligans Honey, which was excellent.
This place may appear a bit garish to some, but is fun, it has character. I had never been in before - i will again!
