Soup Dragon left this review about The Shrubbery

This is a detached 1950s style pub, with patio area. The pub is in plain brick and is of the winged-corridor type - with the odd cracked window pane. The interior is now open plan, all around a central island serving bar. The decor is a bit of a tired looking cream and wood panel. There is a dart board and a pool table, as well as a large pull-down screen (not being used) and a general TV with general programmes on. The music was also general stuff played at a decent level. There is a kid's gift machine and a few eclectic prints and the odd mirror are on the walls. The service was friendly enough and it is very much a local's place. Beer; no real ale, despite two handpulls. Usual tap stuff, without a MILD. I had pop. Nothing for the real ale fan, one for the locals.
