This is a detached Banks's pub. It is difficult to date, but was likely a beerhouse that fed the canal wharf and the colliery over the road. This cottage pub, with side extension is in coffee, with brown paintwork. One of the old entrances has been blocked-up. The interior has a couple of rooms, served by a central island bar. The lounge is at the back, and is in red and white, with a few bits of brass. The front area, where i was, is the bar. It has a near separate snug to the side. This is in white, with a white artex ceiling and blue seats and carpet. There is a dart board and some sporty pictures are on the walls - a fish and a racing pigeon! The service was very friendly (i chatted to the gaffer of some 32 years for quite a while), as were the few locals in. There is a TV, with general programmes on and there was no music. Beer; usual tap stuff with a decent enough Banks's MILD. There was a handpull, which had a Sunbeam clip, but it wasn't on. A really nice locals pub that just lacks real ale to be a great little place.

I have (so far) never had the pleasure of drinking at this establishment, but my partner knows it well.I asked him about the Dew Drop Inn,and I quote: 'A toilet, with the finest ale in the Black Country'.Go figure.Or better still,go to the Dew Drop and find out for yourself.
