The Gigmill is a large Marston’s pub that is apparently under ‘new management’. Hopefully they’ve come with a bit of money to spruce up the exterior which is looking tired. Inside, the L-shaped interior has a central L-shaped serving counter that is split on the corner to create front and rear bars. The front bar houses a pool table to the left, dartboard to the right and televisions through that were airing muted Olympic BMX racing via BBC sports while some background music played. Sky Sports is advertised. In the front right are some large speakers that are used for the regular live music and karaoke. The large rear bar is full of seating with a centrally placed pool table, I decided not to venture in. The service was friendly, but only Wainwright was available from the two banks of three hand pumps. This isn’t somewhere I’d go out of my way to revisit.
