Rocked-up here en route to the annual Black Country Christmas weekender in order to get some grub; they were accommodating to us as walk-ins and we negotiated a table so long as we could turn it round in 60 minutes (not a problem with our party’s appetites). A full-on dining pub here with all tables set. Nicely done interior in a comfy manner - carpet, padded banquettes, beams. Two ales on, a Marstons tied choice in Wells Eagle and Wainwright's (NBSS 3). Food was pricey but good quality and we bonded with the landlady after a number of posho geriatrics wandered in and left the door wide open on a chilly December day. So as mentioned below, it depends what you’re after – but for posh grub and a decent pint in comfy surroundings, then this is a good bet.

All depends what you are after. This is not a casual, drinking pub.
Its a very popular gastropub, with liveried service and a suitably expansive menu. Lunch time Prixe Fixe is £21 for 2 courses, with some dishs a supplement (beef wellington, an extra tenner).
NYE Lunch and walkins were being turned away.
The food is very good. Service, not quite as efficient - especially when they are busy. Table next to us were moaning.
Two real ales on - Brakspear Oxford Gold in reasonable condition.
Go for the food (book first).

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Fountain
Upmarket food-led Banks's pub on the edge of the country park - nearly all laid up for dining inside, but plenty of space out on the front patio terrace to enjoy the sunset on a fine evening. It also has a skittle alley at the back which harks back to its humbler roots. EPA, Wainwright and Brakspear Oxford Gold (£3.90) available from three of four handpumps on the counter.

Very popular Gastro pub , very busy on my Monday afternoon visit with mainly diners , the pub has a bit of farmhouse kitchen feel to it , it is basically one room divided into seperate areas .
Service was very friendly , 4 handpulls with 3 on , all Marstons , Burton Bitter , Pedigree and a decent EPA

Superbly-run pub with strong accent on food and service. Went no smoking years before the ban. 3 'sticks' of beer available for the price of a pint, so you can sample each of the guest beers -trouble is remembering which is which!
