Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Red House
Suburban Thwaites pub that is larger inside than first impressions might suggest. The busy bar area (with a pool table) is off to the left behind a ¾-height partition as you enter, with the open lounge seating areas to the right of the 'L'-shaped servery and a carvery / partially opened-out dining area beyond. Also has a narrow covered patio out front. Disappointingly, just Jennings Cumberland (£2.85) available from the three handpumps.

A large, detached, Thwaites pub, in brick and white render, with beer garden
The interior is open plan, with a central wood bar. Stangely, i have not noted the decor, other than there was some wood panel. There is a bar area and a separate area for dining. There is a nice stone fireplace, with a sofa by it, along with red blinds on the windows. There are few pictures, giving a little bare feeling. Sky TVs are dotted about and background music is at a decent level. Service we found functional, at best, the clientele mixed.
Beer; tap stuff, with continental lager and Thwaites Dark Smooth 'MILD', which was fine. There are a couple of Thwaites handpulls; Lancaster Bomber and Original.
I found the place a little soulless and not too friendly, however, I would go back. It is better than the town centre - i wished we had eaten here instead of the Greville

Cracking pub! Thwaites owned. 3 real ales on ale with own cider on sale as well. Very cosy, 3 plasmas TV on wall and excellent choice of foods. It can be difficult to find as it is tucked away in residential estate. Bus number S1 pass this pub.
