Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Warwickshire Lad
Looks like a foody pub, and the dining area supports this impression, but the three small seating / standing areas around the bar counter are sparsely furnished and plainly decorated. However, the rear decking terrace and side beer garden (with some pods that have appeared since my last visit six years ago) are both well presented. With four of the five handpumps in use, I found HPA and Butty Bach from Wye Valley, Tribute and a somewhat cloudy The Lad Next Door (£4.60, apparently made on site by Infinity Brewing using a nano-brewery at the bottom of the garden).

GBG 24 listed, so a stop-off on the way back from the Walsall weekender. Looks nice from the outside but sadly the upmarket interior is a grey paint gloop victim and is a bit dim and dispiriting as a consequence. The large separate dining room looked a better bet. Warmer at the bar, with friendly service from the young female staff. Three cask on, 2x Wye Valley and St Austell Tribute. My Butty was fine (NBSS 3). Feels like somewhere that wouldn’t make a slimmed-down GBG. No sign of any Silhill beers either. 5.5

Country pub and restaurant in plush area but also right next to the station (request stop). Most of the space is given over to eating but there is a small front bar with TV screen and 3 real ales, one of which is produced by a local Shirley brewery for the pub and kept very well.
Nice enough pub to e=seek out, but probably an eating place more than eanything else.
