Now called the Sip & Sip Bar, this is an Indian-owned bar serving Indian/fusion food. Clientele are on the questionable side and we arrived as they were clearing up a glass that somebody had dropped. TVs are scattered around. They were showing some kind of football documentary.

The room forms almost a crescent shape around the bar with a pool table at one end and a conservatory at the other. Menus could be found on each table, but nobody was eating. Toilets were apparently nice and clean, according to the better half. There is a car park to the rear which looked like a local dumping ground.

Real ale has long since been dispensed with here leaving a keg selection of Carling & Carling Black Fruits, Madri, Coors, Cobra, Guinness, Worthington's & Aspall's.

I'm not sure how long the current venture has been going, but with nobody eating the food, I'm not sure how long this place will survive.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Coal Shed

The former Model has been given quite a thorough makeover, both inside and out. There are two rooms on either side of the central bar counter, the basic one to the left with little seating and mainly for the pool table, but the smarter right-hand side lounge having several tables. Beyond this, there are some tables in a conservatory and then a tidy rear patio. Thankfully, there are two operational handpumps, dispensing Doom Bar and Pedigree (£3.00).

Soup Dragon left this review about The Model

A detached corner pub, now all in white render, with nice etched windows, with a rear patio area.

The interior is a single open plan room that is in a U-shape around the central serving bar area. The decor is a white, chocolate and wood panel mix. One end of the room is nearly cut off by a stove feature, but this is the games area, with a drat board and pool table, as well as a TV with a BBC programme on, a pull down screen (not being used) with Sky 3D for footy and an abandoned piano. The room then turns around the bar, and this is a bar/lounge area, with another TV - showing the footy, but the room ends up in a conservatory area, with dining style tables. I didn't see a menu, or eat, so can't comment on that. The service was Ok, the clientele local and the music, via a jukebox a bit loud when it came on. There were some Victorian styled prints on the walls.

Beer; all tap stuff, with Banks's MILD - there were three handpulls, one with a turned around Abbot badge, another with Holden's OLD Ale - sadly not on. I had a shandy.

A standard kind of pub really, nothing for the real ale drinker at present, but the pub games are there for those happy with keg beer.

This really is a basic pub, nothing special at all.
