This is a detached Marston's pub and eatery, with a patio area. The place was a former pub and inn, but were two separate buildings. The pub appears to lie under the shops on the top of High St and the Inn is where it always was. I assume by the name and its Georgian touches it is an early Victorian build. It is a large mansion, in white render, with differing styles of sash and bay windows. The interior has a couple of rooms, though it is open plan. The bar area is in red and white and has pool and darts, with a small stage area (and they do have live music). There is a pull down screen (not on). The music was general and a decent level. The lounge is L-shaped and in red and white, with fake beam walls and a white and beam ceiling. It has a few pictures and prints and a couple of brick fireplaces. The service was fine. Beer; usual tap stuff with Jennings High Spy (ok), Amarilo Single Hop and Ringwood Lovey Warne. A run-of-the-mill kind of Marston's place really. OK for one.
