A detached, slightly Mediterranean villa-styled pub, with projecting roof, near the canal. It is in cream kind of coloured render and has a patio area and a beer garden, with kids' play stuff.
The entrance is to the side. The interior in a U-shaped room around the central tiled serving bar area. The decor is a peach colour, with a white ceiling and there is an open hearth stove fire feature which was lit and very warming. It is open plan, but there is a more dining area through an open archway where there was a dresser with cutlery - i didn't eat here so can't comment on that. There are a few pictures, not too many and some books on display, as well some plates, pot plants and art deco wall lights. There were a couple of TVs in different parts of the pub, one not on, the other with the footy. The service was really good and the place busy with locals and a few walkers. There was no music.
Beer; tap stuff with Spekky Hen, Enville Ale and a class pint of Ansells MILD
A really nice country pub with a good beer selection and well kept - definately worth a pop in if walking nearby, or simply driving past. I returned within a few days!
