This is a detached pub and eatery, with a kids' play area at the back. The pub is Victorian and here when this area was very rural. In white brick, it is irregular shaped, with a cottage styled frontage and more modern low-level extension. The interior has a couple of rooms, after a recent refurbishment. The one side is an irregular shaped restaurant room, which is mainly in white, with a wood floor, a sofa area around a brick fireplace (thankfully lit) and no real pictures on the walls. The other side of the central serving area is the bar. This is in grey and white, with a wood floor and a white and beam ceiling. There is a fireplace, but again, little in the way of pictures. There is a TV here, which had a music channel on, quietly. The service was fine and a few mature regulars were in the bar. Beer; usual tap stuff with Peroni. A decent enough Rev James was the only handpull. A little feeling that this refurbishment is incomplete, as it feels a bit bare - however, fine for a pint.

What a fabulous place. A proppa pub with proppa grub!! Steak night on Thursday and you can get a rump and chips for £4.95!!! Sunday lunch - all home cooked £6.95. Specials from £4 for an earlybird. Quiz nights - brilliant independent place with a great Mother and Daughter team running it. Great beer garden with some pets and a great playground. Free wifi too :)
