A Hungry Horse pub/eatery with patio area. It is a 1930s estate pub, being in a mock-Tudor design. It is in a mix of plain brick, with stone window and door surrounds. The building has two projecting gabled wings, which are now painted in a light colour. The interior has a big L-shaped room, which is decored in typical Hungry Horse fashion; mixed walls of red, cream, wallpaper and wood. There are a few booth areas with their own TVs and lots of comfy chairs. It is laid out mostly for dining - with the usual Horse menu. There is a kid's play area and a grabbing machine. Larger TVs are dotted about showing the silent news and mixed photo/art/information boards are on the walls. The usual arty vases are also scattered. The service was fine and the clientele small, with a few dining. Beer; usual tap stuff, with GK IPA, Abbot, Spekky Hen and a decent enough Festival American IPA on handpull. All in all, a tidy enough place with a decent real ale choice - whilst not my thing, i have been in far worse.
