Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Great Western
Traditional Banks's corner pub, retaining a separate lounge as well as the main bar. The former was old-fashioned but quiet whereas the latter was much busier and brighter. Also has a small patio / smoking terrace at the front. Only Amber available from the seven handpumps on the two counters, but at just £2.35 and in good form one can't complain too much.

Decent little pub and well described below. Probably the pick of the area.

This is a lovely little cream rendered Banks's corner pub with low-level extension. It has a pediment and a patio area.
The interior has a couple of rooms, a bar at the front and lounge at the rear. The lounge is a sort of Z-shaped room and is in red and white striped wallpaper and wood panel, with carpet and red ceiling. Victorian style prints are on the walls along with some local photographs. This room was quiet when we popped in, the TV wasn't on. The bar is L-shaped and in cream, with some fake brick, white ceiling and green lino floor. There is a dart board and a TV (not on at my visit). Railways pictures and a couple of Wolves ones are on the walls. The service was really friendly and there was a good mixed clientele.
Beer; usual tap stuff, with Brakspear Gold, Banks's Bitter, Banks's MILD and Jennings MILD on handpull. Stayed here for a couple and both MILDs were decent.
A great little pub and one i definitely want to return to.
