Nick Davies left this review about Denbigh Arms
Monks Kirby is a pleasant village once the fiefdom of the Earls of Denbigh, hence the name of the pub. Nothing particularly special about the building, correctly located by the church. Inside it's a traditional, rambling, multiroomed affair with a central servery with no ambitions to be a destination pub. There's a nice, if a little scruffy, terrace and garden at one end, car park at the other. Strangely the only door open when we called was at the car park end, meaning those wanting to enjoy the garden had to carry their pints down the road.
Sunday afternoon, so a carvery affair, which looked like it had been incubating, school dinner style, for about four hours.
EI, so Doombar and Ringwood Fortyniner, but thankfully Purity Mad Goose was guesting and very nice it was too.
Worth a look if you're out exploring the Fosse Way, which passes nearby.
