Closes in the afternoon. Looked entirely set for dining when I peered through the window so decided not to miss the bus back in order to ascertain whether you can indeed still a) just drink and b) cask.

Walking past the front windows all you will see are dining table set for silver service ,but go around the back and off the carpark is the entrance to a small bar with a few tables.It's really a place to gather for a drink before dining,but doesn't exclude drinkers although with a single handpump selling Doom Bar on my trip ,why bother ?

I would agree with Soup Dragon about the restaurant bit but there is a small bar area at the back of the pub as you enter there are no pumps on the bar but when we asked there was one real on in the lower eating area which was Sharpes Doom Bar,we only had a drink here and the people behind the bar was happy with this.

Yes, this is now a restaurant - sad, it was nice years back after a walk around the battlefield

Thsdi used to be a fantastic pub serving good food but it has now been turned into a restaurant.
