Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Hope Tavern
Basic-looking boozer, located just off the old town High Street, which always seems to have a clutch of lurking smokers blocking the doorway so I haven't ventured in previously. Inside, though, you find a modestly refurbished and unexpectedly light interior in the parts. Firstly, you enter via a small seating area to reach the central bar, with a pool table and large sports TV up one step at the far end. Mostly older male clientele. Just Doom Bar (£2.80) available from a pair of handpumps, but as I wasn't expecting to find any real ale this was a bit of a plus.
