Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Fusilier

More of an estate pub that just happens to sit right on the banks of a canal rather than the other way round. Looks quite appealing from a distance, until the dated 1960s L-shaped layout (that I suppose must have been refurbished at some stage). Expected amenities including sports TVs, pool table and dartboard, with the added excitement of a lady sat on a table on the low stage at the right-hand end calling bingo numbers for a crowd of three players. Two sadly disused handpumps, so made do with a quick John Smith's (just £3.25) before heading onwards.

Nick Davies left this review about The Fusilier

Routine early seventies estate pub on the end of a row of shops; this one benefits from its canal frontage, though little effort is made to attract boaters. It seems to major on Sky Sport judging by the number of tellies, all unwatched by the three or four lone blokes who made up the midweek afternoon attendance. Well, five if you include me. Didn't spot any handpumps, not that I would have bothered if I had, stuck to Wifebeater like everyone else, and sat outside to watch the canal comings and goings.

Fine on a nice afternoon if you are passing, but otherwise I'd leave it to the locals.
