A standard village local with few outstanding features either externally or internally but great to have if you're a villager.
The entrance takes you into the main room which extends to the left and on to the rear of the building with a small bar area on the right. On our visit, around Christmas, all the tables were laid for lunch which may have been due to the time of year but I get the impression that food is an important part of the business.
There is a smaller bar area to the back of the building with a dart board and tv so plenty of room if you're only in for a beer.
The service was welcoming and friendly and the food reasonably priced but towards the standard fried end of the market.
Two beers on, alongside the usual national keg stuff: Theakstons Legendary Beerd and Fosse Way Dark Side. The Dark Side was in good shape, brewed in the village and ideal for the time of year.
Worth a visit if you're passing.

Didnt see too much of the inside, as it was a glorious day and I chose to take advantage of their beer garden. After an 8 mile walk in near 30 degree heat - a birra moretti hit the spot.
Friendly staff and they can rustle up a fine ham salad cob.

Excellent community local in the middle of the village, next to the social club and chippy. The building is nothing special, now knocked through into three-sided arrangement, lounge at one end round to a public bar area and pool table the other, and outdoor seating too. Friendly service and doing a good trade on a weekday afternoon. Long, keenly-priced menu suggests much use of the deep-freeze, but no doubt perfectly good for what it is. Bombardier and Tribute in reasonable shape.
I'd be pleased to have this pub as my local.
