A lot older than I thought it was going to be, appears to be a well presented locals pub but still friendly and has good beer

The Engine was a Kenilworth pub that I wasn't expecting much from. Like the Wyandotte just up the road, it does not open until 3pm on weekdays. Also similar to its neighbour, the pub was already quite busy soon after opening.
I found the landlord here to be most amiable. I was hoping to sample the regular ale M & B Brew XI, which I rarely see these days. But apparently the brewery has not yet started brewing it again. Doom Bar is the other regular ale. 2 guests were Razor Back & Wainwright. I was severely tempted by the Razor Back, but decided to save myself for the Royal Oak, a decision I later regretted.
Outdoor seating here appears to be an improvised setup on the pavement. But the pub had a real village feel to it and I felt quite at home here. Best pub I found in Kenilworth.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Engine Inn
Pleasant cottage pub - which must be of some age, given the low ceilings - that has been opened out at some stage to leave a 'U'-shaped bar with counters of opposite sides of the central servery. However, the traditional character remains, darts can be played and there is a beer garden at the back. Doom Bar, M&B Brew XI, Wainwright and Wye Valley HPA (£3.60) available from the two pairs of handpumps.

Proper little local pub with 4 beers on when we called. Doom Bar, Butty Bach, Black Sheep and Brew 11. The Black Sheep was very good. They had the cricket world cup on Sky. Excellent cobs on the bar which we enjoyed at £2 each. All in all a very good pub and well worth a visit.

The Engine is a nice looking pub that is one of three pubs that are within sight of each other.
Once inside there is a single U shaped room with the bar facing, the room has comfy bench seating and small stools and is carpeted, there is a darts board to the rear right and the TV was showing Sky sports football updates.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Woodfords Wherry which went down well, the other beers were Brew X1 and Wadworth 6X.
This is a comfy and pleasant pub to have a drink in.

Called in after a break of many years. Still a pleasant enough local now enhanced by a very decent beer range. Friendly atmosphere and a good choice if you fancy a bit of a sesh.
