Soup Dragon left this review about The Red Lion
A detached white and timber framed pub and eatery that also does accommodation. It has a front patio and rear beer garden.
The interior has two rooms; a dining room and a bar. The dining area is at the back of the pub and is in white and grey. There was nobody in here and we didn’t eat, I assume this is where the guests eat. The bar is in two parts and is in white, with red seating and red tiled floor. The one side has a large oval table as a central feature and has a nice fireplace. The other side has a bar billiard table, or some game like it, as well as a dart board. Model horses feature a lot and there are lots of general 19th century style prints on the walls. The service was good, the clientele few and the background music was mixed and at a decent level.
Beer; tap stuff with Pedigree, OHanlons Goldblade, Black Sheep Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord and a fine enough Ansell’s MILD on handpull.
Another nice place. It had been 15 years since my last visit, I hope it isn’t another 15 before I come back.
