Traditional place with a country pub feel (chunky wood furnishings, quarry tile and wood floor, no piped music, roaring fire, chinaware etc) and a ‘just-so’ atmosphere, explained by the landlord’s 30 year tenure. Friendly locals and amusement value provided by an egg salesman who popped in. Pints of Bass (NBSS 3) and Grasshopper Devil’s Horse Stout (3.5). Bit of a bus trek from Tamworth station but well-worth it, especially as said bus drops-off outside. 8.5
