Thank you to Mrs Ale for seeking out this historic pub dating from the 1800s. The pub was shut for a good while and was used by a bookmakers. You enter this pub via a staircase to the first floor. The interior has been untouched and I found the fixtures and fittings to be very impressive. The layout consists of a large corner room plus a very elaborate back bar, plus a medium sized side room. Two handpumps serving Great North Eastern Rivet Catcher and Mosiac. The two young barmaids were also very friendly and helpful.
