Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Tynemouth Lodge Hotel
The Tynemouth Lodge Hotel is situated on a hill alongside a busy road towards North Shields. In fact, it is probably midway between Tynemouth and North Shields. The first thing you notice is the impressive tiled frontage. Inside is just as traditional, with a single room curving around the bar. Just a couple of customers were in, both engaging in conversation. This is a typical old-fashioned boozer.
The 3 regular ales these days are Black Sheep Best Bitter, Marston's Pedigree & Hadrian Border Tyneside Blonde. I opted for the guest beer, which was Hadrian Border Northumberland Gold.

Last night found a good number of customers in the bar, with the choice of four real ales on the bar with Bass, Deuchars IPA and two local beers from Cullercoats brewery and Mordues. The Bass was as good as ever.

Single room pub with no T.V. or music. An old fashioned locals boozer with four real ales on the bar and has been in the Good Beer Guide for over 25 years under the same owner.
