Blue Scrumpy left this review about Copperfields @ Grand Hotel

Part of the Grand Hotel, but with its own entrance on the corner, this pub felt a little sterile. But I had arrived just after opening at 3pm. Deuchars is the regular ale. Guests were Landlord, Hobgoblin Gold & Shuggy Boat Blonde.

I should have perhaps followed the previous reviewer's advice, as I just didn't take to this place.

If you plan on a visit here, I recommend the walk along the seafront. Also do walk through the Hotel to get to this rear bar, as the front entrance along with the sweeping staircase, is stunning. Four handpumps on our visit, serving Anarchy Blonde Star, Marstons Pedigree, Marstons 61 Deep and Deuchars IPA. We went for the Anarchy Blonde Star, which was in excellent condition and was priced very reasonably for a Hotel bar at £3.70. The staff were very friendly and chatty, well worth a visit.

ROB Camra left this review about Copperfields (Grand Hotel)

Smart and friendly bar which is part of the Grand Hotel. We called in on a Monday lunchtime at about 12:30 and there were already a few people in. It's one fairly compact room with a raised area at the rear. 4 real ales available of which one is always from the nearby Cullercoats brewery. When in Rome etc, so I had a pint of the Cullercoats Jack The Devil which was in good nick. The prices are reasonable for the surroundings and there's a 20p per pint CAMRA discount. It's a bit out of the way as all the other pubs in Tynemouth are on or around Front Street, but it's well worth the pleasant walk along the seafront. We both liked it here and will definitely call in again next time we visit Tynemouth.
