Located some way out of town, the Dolphin last appeared in the Good Beer Guide back in 2003. Nevertheless, they still stock Tetley's Cask alongside a couple of guests. On my Thursday afternoon visit, they had Timothy Taylor Landlord & Cullercoats Lovely Nelly. Service was a little on the slow side. But I couldn't fault my swift half of the Lovely Nelly and a CAMRA discount is offered.

There were around 3 or 4 other customers who had all just finished their lunches. I opted for a pack of crisps instead to keep me going! A music channel was playing on the pub's TV, which sits over the fireplace.
