Graham Coombs left this review about Gosforth Hotel
Seeing the rather nice blue-glazed frontage on this old Victorian pub I was prepared to be disappointed but happily it exceeded my expectations. The interior has certainly been messed about, with various modern fripperies, but it still felt like a good pub. The main room was lively, with a tap room further on containing a pool table and I think another room behind, as well as something posted upstairs. Various entertainments were advertised and some serious 60's music helped things along. On the splendid bar counter were 8 handpumps, including a couple of national brands and a Lilley's cider but otherwise good regional brews including some from Anarchy. A small keg wall is also provided for the crafty types. I would be quite happy if this was my local.

Traditional Victorian pub with original glazed ultramarine tiles on the exterior. The inside consists of a large L shaped lounge bar and a rear snug with bar. Six ales on handpump all averaging around the £2.50 mark. Enjoyed the Mordue Geordie Pride, Radgie Gadgie and Workie Ticket. Will call again.
