You can tell from the outside this is an unpretentious locals' pub and so it proved to be. There is one rectangular room, with the counter down one side and a pool table at the back, plus various sports screens and a liberal sprinkling of footy flags and scarves. Sadly the two handpumps have been relegated to blue roll holders but the superannuated Geordies supping their John Smiths Smooth at £3.50 didn't seem to mind. An adequate boozer but nothing worth drinking.

A good traditional pub with a slightly older regulars crowd of an afternoon. Becomes a music venue at weekends and is a good place to watch sport. Ales featured were Black Sheep and Sharps Doom Bar, which was good.
