The pub has recently turned become a freehouse after the new owners bought it from Cameron's Brewery. The interior of the pub is pretty big with a U shaped lounge that wraps around the bar. The pub is traditional in décor and is carpeted throughout. The open fire was blazing away on our visit and we found the locals and landlady most welcoming, to the point of staying longer than anticipated. Four pumps on the bar, consisting of Titanic Plum Porter, Hophead Dark Star, Red Willow Stateless and Wylam 003 Rakan. All of their ales were in very good condition. There was also a reasonable sized rear garden and bands play here regularly at weekends.
