A fairly standard, L-shaped Greene King pub on the main Brighton Road in South Croydon. The interior is fairly conservative and traditional, with a couple of large mirrors and a tap and spile display case being the only real features of any interest. A pool table can be found on a small raised area at the front whilst the rear has a dart board and quite a decent sized bit of unused space, which suggests live music or karaoke might be an option.
GK IPA, Abbot Ale (£2.90) and Ruddles were the unsurprising ale choices as well as the standard lager and cider selection. The Abbot wasn't too bad, but didn't really merit its price tag.
There weren't too many punters in when I visited, although I did spot a few departing as I arrived, presumably only having been there for the Cup Final which had just finished.
There are a few better pubs in this part of town and whilst I don't envisage I'll be returning here again soon, I can't say it's a bad pub either - just very average.
