10 mins uphill from Reigate station, nestling in the lee of Reigate hill, this is an upmarket middle-class mock Tudor pub/eatery in a 1930s roadside building. An L-shaped interior separated by a chimney breast with lots of wood panelling, parquet flooring, leaded windows, leather chairs, wood fire etc. Selection of papers in a rack. Nice-looking rear garden, forgot to explore unfortunately. Noted a sign about a house dress code but they let me in, presume it's there as a stoppage for proper chavs. Three pumps at the bar, a dull choice of Pride, Youngs Bitter (decent nick) and Doom Bar. Too late after ordering I spotted a plastic pin behind the bar; on enquiry it was a new brewery from Croydon and I was offered a taster, however the lack of cooling meant it wasn't great and I declined a further fill. It was nice enough in here and with a bit of imagination/care at the bar, could be proper draw.
