A large multi-area’d place that's mainly foody and part bar. Gash gastro decor…mushroom brown and olive green shade interior, just as dull as you’d imagine. Small grassed garden to rear. Three ales on; Doom Bar, Hogs Back TEA and Tim Taylor Landlord (so-so), which weighed-in at a remarkable £4.70 a pint. Symptomatic of plastic Surrey pubs, this one.

A classic brick-built pub building tucked away on a back road - only a few minutes off the A3 but you wouldn't find it by chance. The old multi-roomed layout has been knocked through but retains different areas. Good traditional furnishings mostly set out for food, but off to one side is a cosy lounge area with sofas and a real fire - just the thing for winter. On the car park side is a large restaurant room, and there are outdoor areas also. Draught beers were Landlord and Doombar, the former in superb condition (Cask-Marque listed). The food is a little pricey but of excellent quality; the welcome and service also first rate. Well worth seeking out.
