Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Astolat Pub
Unusually named estate pub located a short distance both west of the station and south of the university. Located in a slightly elevated position, with a plain semi-modern look to the L-shaped layout. It also provides a home to the Anaj eat-in and takeaway business (operating from a separate part of the counter). Slightly surprisingly, I found all three in use, offering a pair of cask ales from Sharp's - Doom Bar (£5.40) and Solar Wave - along with a Lilley's cider.

A student/locals sports bar, located a few minutes from the west exit from Guildford BR and indeed is the only pub within walking distance. Pool, darts, muted TVs showing football that sort of thing. Two pumps; Doom Bar (though I’m pretty convinced that the watery mess that emerged from the pipe hadn’t been within 100 miles of Cornwall) and Thatchers Heritage cider. Fairly uninspiring all round.

Locals pub offering a reasonable selection of drinks, but not always worth the hassle of getting there.
